Former University of Memphis golfer Clayton Ellis held on to his 4 stroke lead entering the final round

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (July 29, 2013) -- Former University of Memphis golfer Clayton Ellis held on to his 4 stroke lead headed into the final round of the MGA Amateur Championship after following up his opening 68 with an even-par 70 at Memphis Country Club in round two. Ellis, a member of Windyke Country Club, leads Tim Jackson of Ridgeway Country Club who rebounded from an opening round 75 on day one with a three-under par 67 on day two. Robert Adams of Windyke is alone in third place after rounds of 73-71, and Buzz Fly of Spring Creek Ranch (76-69) and Tyler Peggs of Ridgeway (75-70) are another stroke back in a tie for fourth. The final round will be held at Colonial Country Club's North Course.
