Matt Crenshaw leads at N.C. Mid-Am

North Carolina Amateur and North Carolina Amateur Match Play champion, Matthew Crenshaw of Burlington, NC, carded a two-under par 69 to take the lead

ROCKY MOUNT, NC - First round results of the 19th North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, NC on Friday, September 14, 2012 (6558 yards yards, par 36-35—71, 71.8/137). Current North Carolina Amateur and North Carolina Amateur Match Play champion, Matthew Crenshaw of Burlington, NC, carded a two-under par 69 to hold a one stroke lead over 2007 North Carolina Mid-Amateur champion Gary Robinson of Fayetteville, NC. Defending champion, Brian Westveer of Charlotte, NC posted a four-over 75 and stands tied for 21st place. After 36 holes the field will be cut to the low 60 scores and ties for the final two rounds.
