The cut line fell at one-over par 141. 34 teams reached that number so a 7-for-5 team playoff took place to decide the remaining seeds of the match play portion of the championship. The five teams who earned their spot via the playoff were Andrew Smith – Mark Hodges, Sammy Truett – Bert Atkinson, Travis Hall – Thomas Lee, Jr., Brett Parlier – Jesus Espina- Velosa and Cary Phillips – Ryan Reynolds.
Round of 32 matches begin at 8:00am off #1 and #10 tees at Camden Country Club on Friday morning.
A handful of former champions advanced to match play: three-time champion Bert Atkinson-Sammy Truett (2001, 02, 05), Robert Dargan-David Dargan (2006), Paul Tucker-Brent Roof (2013), Matthew Crenshaw (2012, 14) playing with new partner Banks Wood, Jr., and Blair Bowland (2012) playing with new partner Dustin Moore.

The defending champions, Zachary Martin and John Grimes, are not in the 2016 field.
There are 33 teams within five shots of the lead and every team in the field still has a chance to make match play. The championship format is contested over 36-holes of four-ball stroke play to determine 32 qualifiers for match play.
