Martinson wins Delaware Open Championship

Justin Martinson, fired a final-round 67 to finish at -11 to win the Delaware Open, Mark Surtees and Greg Wolfe tie for low amateur

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE (Aug. 2, 2011) -- The Delaware State Golf Association held the final round of the 46th Delaware Open Championship today, August 2nd, at Kings Creek Country Club. This year's champion, Justin Martinson, fired a final-round 67 to finish at -11 (202), 6 strokes ahead of his closest competitor, Chris Wisler, an unaffiliated professional, whose final round 73 gave him a 3 round total of 208. There was a tie for Low Amateur, Mark Surtees of Back Creek GC and Greg Wolfe of Cavaliers CC, both finished -1 through 3 rounds at 212. All the amateurs who made the cut will be exempt into the 2012 Delaware Amateur Championship. The low 25 at this year's Open will receive exemptions into next year's event.
