Englishman Martin Young has won the Welsh Mid-Amateur

LLANELLI, Wales (June 10, 2016) -- Englishman Martin Young has won the Welsh Mid-Amateur. Young put together three day scores of 66-68-72 and finished 8-under to win by one shot at Machynys Peninsula Golf Club. Young opened the tournament with a 6-under 66, to take a first round share of the lead and never looked back on his way to an impressive win. Gareth Sheridan shot three consecutive 69's but fell one stroke short of forcing a playoff finishing at 7-under. D.J. Westwood and James Bunch both finished 3-under and in a tie for third, Richard Corscadden was fourth at 2-under while three players were fifth at 1-under.
