Witness Mark and Jacob Phillips' 19-under performance at this year's tournament. The Georgia duo held off a charge by defending champs Scott Pitts and Tim Lovell (also from Georgia) to capture the title. Pitt's and Lovell finished at 17-under, and four other teams finished in double-digit red numbers -- including two more father & son teams and a senior team.

The duo was paced by Lawson's much-improved play after taking a series of lessons in Tucson, where he is a junior at the University of Arizona. The big breakthrough for Lawson was on Sunday when he knocked off two firsts. Breaking 80 at Sheep Ranch with a 75 on his own ball for the first time was nice. But beating his dad for the first time after many close tries was the icing on the cake.
SENIOR, FATHER & SON DIVISIONS

Playing together in the final round, the teams traded jabs all day, and things got interesting on the final three holes. Meyer birdied No. 16 to close the gap to two, and the North Carolinians made up another shot on No. 17 when Kropp and Lewis made bogey. Meyer hit the par-5 18th green in two but three-putted from long range, the pair fell just short of a tie.
With Team Phillips winning the overall gross title, the Father & Son award was presented to Donald and Zack Miller at 13-under. The Millers tied for the lowest Saturday round with a 67 at
