Ly birdied the 8th hole and shot 35 on the front nine. She got red hot on the back, recording a string of 4-straight birdies on Nos. 14-17. The rest of her card was immaculate - not a single bogey. Easier said then done.

Sagee Palavivatana, who plays for Sacramento State, shot 71 and sits in third place in the 36 hole event, while a group of 4 players is hanging out at even par 72, looking for a hot round on Sunday. Andrea Wong of UC Davis, who was medalist at the California Women's Amateur (with an amazing 64) shot 73 today and could also come up with a low number on Sunday.

Almost the entire field in the championship flight are sub-four handicap players currently competing for area colleges. Lynne Cowan of Davis (an AmateurGolf.com contributor) shot a solid 74. Cowan will compete in the US Mid Amateur next week.
