Edward Gibstein cards a 69, the lowest score of the day by 4 shots, and captures the Long Island Mid-Amateur Championship

JERICHO, NY (Aug. 17, 2011) -- Edward Gibstein from Engineers CC had it going on a tough day for scoring by carding a 69, the lowest score of the day by 4 shots, and captured the Long Island Mid-Amateur Championship by one stroke over Garett Engel of Middle Bay CC. Gibstein posted rounds of 76-69--145 to Engle's 71-75--146. Jared Eglowsky (72-78--150) from the Meadow Brook Club, shared third with Mike Guli, Bethpage State Park (73-77--150), Alan Butler, Piping Rock Club, 73-77--150), Chris OKeefe, Bethpage State Park (73-77--150) and Dan Goldstein, Wheatley Hills GC (76-74-150).
