Kim maintains lead at Women's Trans National

August Kim of Purdue University will go for the wire-to-wire victory on Friday at the Women's Trans National Amateur

ELGIN, S.C. (July 31, 2014) — August Kim, who just finished her freshman season at Purdue University, will take a two stroke lead into tomorrow's final round at the Women's Trans National Amateur. Playing The Members Club at Woodcreek, a Tom Fazio design, Kim has managed to hold the lead after every round up until this point thanks to her first-round 69. The Florida native has fired rounds of 73 and 70 since. Caroline Inglis, a junior at the University of Oregon, tied the low round of the tournament with a 69 on Thursday to pull within two shots of Kim. The only other player under par in South Carolina is UC Davis junior Andrea Wong, who shot her lowest round of the event in round three — a one-under par 70. She sits three strokes behind Kim.
