Kevin Roberts maintains lead at South Carolina Mid-Amateur

Kevin Roberts, one of three co-leaders after the first round, jumped into the lead after the second round with the lowest score of the day

CLINTON, S.C. (Oct. 4, 2014) — Kevin Roberts fired a second round score of 73 to finish the day at even par 144 to take the solo lead heading into the final round of the South Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship at Musgrove Mill Golf Club. With cool temperatures, windy conditions and fast greens, low scores were hard to come by and Roberts’s 73 tied for the low round of the day. The 37 year old Chesnee Country Club member has a two shot lead over Blythewood's Robert Dargan. Tied for third are Geno Berchiatti and Jeremy Revis at 147. The other co-first round leader, Doug Ramey is in fifth at 148 and Defending Champion, Lee Palms is alone in sixth place at 149. It took a score of 21 over par 165 to make the cut to the low 60 players and ties which resulted in a final round field of 64 players vying for the title. Final round play will begin on Sunday morning beginning at 8.00 a.m. with play off of #1 & #10 tees.
