CHANDIGARH, India (December 12, 2016) -- The last five weeks has been a stretch of golf to remember for Karandeep Kochhar. First at the beginning of November he became the first amateur and youngest player to win a Professional Golf Tour of India, when he claimed the PGTI Players Championship in just his second professional start. Still riding that momentum Kochhar picked up another impressive win by capturing the 116th All-India Amateur Championship.
Following two days of stroke-play Kochhar entered match play as the two-seed and completed his run to the title with a win in the 36-hole championship match over Arjun Prasad.
During his run to the title Kocchar defeated Vinay Kumar (Round of 32), Shaun Stapleton (Round of 16), Alaap (quarterfinals) and Pukhraj Gill (semifinals).
