Kansas Sr. Team: Chamberlin, Newman go wire-to-wire

KGA veterans Tracy Chamberlin and Steve Newman also were wire to wire leaders and cruised to an easy nine shot victory

MAYETTA, Kan. (Oct. 2, 2013) -- In the Senior Team Championship, KGA veterans Tracy Chamberlin and Steve Newman also were wire to wire leaders and cruised to an easy nine shot victory in the Senior Team Championship. Newman and Chamberlin put together rounds of 59, 67 and 66 to set a new tourney scoring record. Defending champions Mike Grosidider and Mark Elliott finished in second at 15-under par 201. In the Super Senior Division, Phillipsburg's Doug Kaup and Salina's Bob Vidricksen were victorious holding on for a two shot victory over Lake Quivira's Don Cox and Prairie Village's Bill Toalson. Kaup and Vidricksen finished the championship at 15-under par 201 total. In the Senior Net Division, Craig Cooper and Randy Forbes claimed victory. The Mid-Am Team and Senior Team are 54-hole stroke play team events that feature a different daily format (Rd 1 - Shamble, Rd 2 - Alternate Shot, Rd 3 - Four-Ball). Cart is included for all rounds of the championship. The Mid-Am Team is open to KGA golfers age 25 & older. The Senior Team is open to KGA golfers age 50 & older.
