EAGLE, Neb. (May 16, 2011) -- Knox Jones of Lincoln leads the 13th Nebraska Senior Amateur Championship by two shots following first round play at Woodland Hills Golf Course in Eagle. Jones posted a 3-under par 68. 2006 champion, Mike Krumland of Columbus is at 1-under 70.
The two players will be paired together for Tuesday's final round with 2005 champion, John Haney of Lincoln. Haney finished round one at 1-over par 72.
In divisional play Jones leads the 50-57 age group, Haney the 58-64 segment and Roger Harms of Grand Island the 65 and over group. Harms posted a 1-over par score of 72. On the net side the divisional leaders include Todd Jelden of Kearney (67), Jerry Tanner of Lincoln & Bert Newell of Lincoln (69) and Mike O'Hanlon of Omaha (65).
