Jones Cup Senior: Weston, Spurlock lead after Round 1

SEA ISLAND, Georgia (March 4, 2013) -- Mark Weston and Vern Spurlock both fired rounds of 1-under 69 to share the first-round lead at the 2013 Jones Cup Senior Invitational at Sea Island's Seaside course. Weston and Spurlock lead a loaded field by two shots after the opening round of the 54-hole event. Doug Hanzel, the defending champion, is two shots back in second place after a first-round 1-over 71. The senior invitational event inaugurated in 2012 and follows in the footsteps of the Jones Cup, a prestigious event that unofficially kicks off the amateur circuit each year.
