Jim Starnes wins Society of Seniors Founders Cup

ORLANDO, FL (October 5, 2016) -- With rounds of 70-70-72 to finish at 212 Jim Starnes, the seventh ranked senior in the AmateurGolf.com Rankings, has claimed the Society of Seniors Founders Cup. Starnes, the leader after the first round, began the final day at the Grand Cypress Club tied for the lead with top-ranked senior Doug Hanzel. Hanzel finished with a 54-hole 214 total following scores of 72-68-74. In a distant third place it was Mark Weston (75-72-73--220). The Super Senior Division ended up going to the winner by six Robert Hess. In three rounds of play Hess tallied scores of 72-67-74 to card a 213 total. Gary Kirwan (70-75-74--219) was second while Jim Kamis (74-75-71---220) was third. In the Grand Master Division it was Jim Wetzel (76-75-75--226) capturing the title with Harry Cain (75-75-82--232) in second and Gus Kozina (80-77-76--233) in third.
