Jim Pierce leads at Golfweek Senior Amateur

LA QUINTA, Calif. (April 22, 2012) -- After round one of the Golfweek Senior Amateur played at the La Quinta Mountain Course, Jim Pierce of Oro Valley, AZ sits atop the leader board with a 2-under-par 70. Pierce's round, which included four birdies and two bogeys, puts him one ahead of last year's 2nd place finisher, Douglas Pool of Las Vegas, NV and Kemp Richardson of Laguna Niguel, CA The two are tied for second at 71. Thomas Hyland holds fourth with a 72 and a foursome including Daniel Cook, Rich Tolly, Murphy Mitchell and Bob Kain are tied for fifth with 73's. The legends flight is lead by Dan King with a 78 and Bob Fouke leads the super seniors with a 71. Play continues tomorrow at the TPC Stadium Course.
