Jeffrey Scohy Goes Bogey-Free to Open at Ohio Mid Am

A bogey-free 68 gives Jeffery Scohy a 1-shot advantage over Bill Williamson at the Ohio Mid Am played at Belmont Country Club.

PERRYSBURG, OHIO (June 16, 2015) -- The Ohio Mid-Amateur got underway today at Belmont Country Club in Perrysburg, Ohio. Jeffrey Scohy of Bellbrook, Ohio sits atop the leaderboard after a superb bogey free 68 which included 4 birdies. It’s no shock that Scohy is leading the way having multiple U.S. Amateurs and U.S. Mid-Am appearances under his belt along with a 3rd place finish in this event last year. Trailing Scohy by a shot is a former champion of this event, Bill Williamson, who shot a 3-under 69 with 4 birdies and a lone bogey. In a three-way tie for 3rd are Kevin Grabeman of Columbus, Ken Kinkopf of Dublin, and David Giffith of Broadview Heights, Ohio. The threesome all finished with an even par 72. Grabeman finished 5th in this competition last year and will be paired with Williamson and Scohy in the final pairing tomorrow morning.
