ANKENY, Iowa (May 10, 2014) -- Jon Olson shot a final-round 66 and defeated J.D. Anderson in a playoff to win the 2014 Iowa Mid-Amateur Championship at Otter Creek Golf Course.
Olson (71-66) finished tied atop the leaderboard with Anderson and made birdie on the second playoff hole to win over a loaded field.
Gene Elliot, who was a member on the winning U.S. Concession Cup team last week, shot 71-69 to tie for third place alongside Brian Verduyn, who held the lead after Round 1 with an opening 68.
Reigning U.S. Mid-Amateur champion Mike McCoy shot 74-71 to finish tied for eighth place.
