International Four-Ball: Veneziano/Abbate charge into lead

Jon Veniziano and Ryan Abbate fire a blistering 14-under 58 to lead by 3

PALM CITY, Fla. – Jon Veneziano of Mount Dora and Ryan Abbate of Fort Lauderdale combined for a better ball score of 14 under par 58 Saturday to move ahead in the 56th annual International Four-Ball golf tournament at The Fox Club. At 125, they lead the mid-amateur division, ages 25-54, by three strokes heading into the final round Sunday.

In the senior division for players 55 and older, Rick Woulfe of Fort Lauderdale and Pat Tallent of Vienna, Va., are the leaders, also by three strokes, on 64-129.            

In the legends flight, a 36-hole event optional for players 65-older, Jim McGuigan of Hobe Sound and Bill McDonald of Troy, Mich., birdied the first playoff hole to beat Paul Quigley and Gary Burkhead of Jupiter after they tied at 137.
