High Tide: Alabama women lead Div. I NCAA Final

Brooke Pancake and Stephanie Meadow lead the University of Alabama to the first round lead at the NCAA Div. I National Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (May 22, 2012) -- The Crimson Tide ladies are on top of a crowded leaderboard at the NCAA Div. I Championships at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., just outside of Nashville. Only six strokes separate first from seventh place in a tight race for the National title.

The Crimson tide carded 286 during the first round with Senior Brooke Pancake leading the way with an opening 68.

The University of Viriginia's Portland Rosen leads in the individual race with a 66 while her team is just two strokes off the pace.

The lady Blue Devils from Duke university posted 289 and are in solo third while the University of North Carolina sits in fourth at 290.

The PAC 12 teams of UCLA and Arizona State are tied for fifth at 289.

Play continues tomorrow at the Par 72, 6,377 yard track and will conclude on Friday.
