CHESTERFIELD, MO. One (Aug. 15, 2010) --One Metropolitan Amateur Championship entered, one victory! Meadowbrook CC member Eli Grant finished off an unbelievable run over the 153 player field Saturday with a one shot victory.
"Considering that I don't play a lot of tournament golf to be able to come out here and beat the best amateur players in St. Louis means a lot," said Grant. "And to be able to win it here on my home course makes it that much more special."
Grant had rounds of 68-72-75 for a 1-over par total. Finishing one back were Jeremy Franklin and Brian Craig, both of Gateway National Golf Links. Craig fired the low round of the Championship with a 5-under 66 to get into contention early in the final round in tough scoring conditions.
