LA QUINTA, Calif. (April 22, 2013) -- Doug Pool fired a first-round 1-under 71 and sits atop the leaderboard at the 2013 Golfweek Senior Amateur at PGA West's Stadium Course.
Pool, the defending champion, is one shot up of the red-hot Jeff Burda, who recently took home top honors at the Society of Seniors Masters.
Richar Alarid and Rick Herpic are tied for third after shooting 1-over 73s.
Second-round action continues Monday from PGA West.
