George Walker wins North & South Senior

PINEHURST, N.C. (August 7, 2014) — As the North & South Senior Amateur headed back to the No. 8 Course at Pinehurst Resort, George Walker held a slim one-stroke lead over a talented senior field in the state of North Carolina. Walker shot 74 on Thursday as Russ Perry fired one of the lower rounds of the tournament — a 69 — to leapfrog a slew of players to tie Walker through 54 holes. But Walker prevailed in the playoff, winning the 2014 North & South Senior Amateur. Robert Parmar, who was in contention all week, including having a share of the lead with Walker and David Prokop after round one, finished in solo second place, just a shot behind the two playoff participants.
