Foreman wins big playoff at East County Mid, Master, Senior

Terry Foreman birdies the third hole of sudden-death to win the Senior title, while Steven Chung and Jamie Looper win the Mid-Am and Masters divisions

ANTIOCH, Calif. (July 26, 2015) — Terry Foreman emerged from a pack of three players who tied for low in the senior division of the East County Mid-Master-Senior with a birdie on the third playoff hole. Foreman, a recent contestant at the U.S. Senior Open, started slow with a 77 but jumped up the leaderboard with a final round 69. At 146, he stood tied with Steve Wilson and Dale Bouguennec, two solid East Bay players. (And call Bouguennec "Mr. Playoff" -- this was his fourth in the last 7 months!) After playing the 18th hole twice without settling the score, the players retraced to the par-3 17th, where Foreman was the only one to hit the green. He took advantage and made birdie for the victory. Meanwhile Steven Chung took a huge lead into the final round after opening with a 68 on Saturday; he closed the deal with a 74 on Sunday. In the Masters division, Jamie Looper fired the round of the tournament for any division -- a 66 on Saturday -- and was able to hold off Scott Olds by three despite sliding to a 75 on Sunday. The folks at Lone Tree continue to run an excellent tournament schedule and we appreciate their assistance with this report.
