Emma Talley takes low amateur at Women's British Open

Talley, the reigning U.S. Women's Amateur champion, shot a final-round 73 to finish tied for 17th at 6-over, earning low amateur honors

SOUTHPORT, England (July 13, 2014) -- Amidst all of the 72nd hole dramatics from champion Mo Martin, the solid play from amateur Emma Talley at the Women's British Open should not go unnoticed. Talley, the reigning U.S. Women's Amateur champion, shot a final-round 73 to finish tied for 17th at 6-over, earning low amateur honors. Talley, who recently helped lead the U.S. to a dominant win at the Curtis Cup, finished two shots ahead of Georgia Hall and beat out a long list of high-ranking professionals, including Paula Creamer and Lydia Ko.
