Emilee Hoffman earns Women's Western Amateur Top-Seed

Play at the Women's Western Amateur will continue on Thursday beginning with the Round of 32

ROMEOVILLE, IL (June 27, 2018) - All-Big 12 performer Emilee Hoffman posted rounds of 65-70 to easily earn the top-seed for match play at the Women's Western Amateur. A rising junior at Texas, Hoffman finished 9-under and five shots better than a group of four players that shared second after two days of play at Mistwood Golf Club.

Over the course of match play qualifying Hoffman only bogeyed three-times while carding 10 birdies and an eagle. The eagle, a hole out on the 373 yard par-4 6th, highlighted a near flawless 7-under 65 first round that also included six birdies. Hoffman's best stretch of golf during the opening round came between Nos. 5-15 where she played 6-under golf.

The 4-under second place quartet included Brianne Bolden (Missouri commit), Julie Houston (UT San Antonio), Adeena Shears (Ohio State) and Katharine Patrick (Virginia).
