Duke won on the strength of a 17-under 271 in the opening round at UNC Finley Golf Course. The Blue Devils hung on to that lead with rounds of 290-291 to end the tournament. At 14 under, Duke was six shots ahead of the next best team.
“I didn’t feel like I was playing that well throughout the round but the score ended up being good enough,” Belac said.
Jaravee Boonchant also contributed 1-under 71 on Sunday.
Only Virginia and Arkansas went under par on Sunday, firing matching rounds of 1-under 287. Virginia finished the weekend at 8 under and was second to Duke. Arkansas was third at 5 under. South Carolina was fourth at 2 over and Wake Forest rounded out the top 5 at 4 over.
Wake Forest’s Emilia Migliaccio won the individual title with an 11-under 205 total. It’s the sophomore’s second career victory, and she had to hold off Arkansas powerhouse Dylan Kim to do it. Kim matched Migliaccio’s final-round 70 but it was too little too late. Kim was 7 under for the week.
