Dave King Sr.: Schlachter, Smith win titles

HAYMARKET, Virg. (July 31, 2013) -- Paul Schlachter beat Vinny Giles in a playoff to win the Dave King title at Evergreen Country Club. Schlachter, who also won in 2011, shot 72-7068--210 to tie Giles (69-72-69--210) before winning in the playoff. Dave Pulk (71-73-70--214) was third, four back of Schlachter and Giles while Mike Occi (72-73-70--215) placed fourth. Two-time Senior Division winner Ted Smith won by three shots in the Super Senior Division, firing rounds of 71-66-74--211. The Dave King Senior Invitational is an amateurgolf.com Senior Rankings points event and is in its 14th year and was held at the Evergreen Country Club for the for the 12th straight year.
