Crowdis wins Kentucky Senior Match Play

Randy Crowdis takes the title on 19th hole in final match against Bruce Walters

LOUISVILLE, KY (June 7, 2012) -- Randy Crowdis of Louisville, KY won the championship flight of the Kentucky Senior Match Play in sudden death over Bruce Walters of Lexington, KY. Crowdis the no. 7 seed needed one extra hole to defeat Walters, the no. 4 seed at the Wildwood Country Club. Except for a birdie at the first by Walters, Crowdis had the upper hand in most of the match holding a 1-up lead through hole 11. Faltering with bogey at no. 12 the match stayed all square through 15 where another Crowdis bogey put Walters 1-up. Walters held the narrow lead through 17 but faltered at the 18th with a double-bogey to Crowdis's par squaring up the match again. In sudden death, Crowdis parred the 390 yard first hole to take the title.
