WEST END, N.C. (June 24, 2013) -- Amateurs are in contention at the Carolinas PGA Beacon Ridge Senior Open.
Jim Gallagher of Charlotte fired a 1-under 71 and is one shot off the first-round lead and pace set by John Budwine.
In third place is another amateur, Roger Taylor, who shot 2-over 74.
Amateurs Steve Wilson and Steve Lambert are tied for fourth at 3-pver while Phillip Greeneand Elton Trent sit at 5-over and in a tie for 10th place.
