Concession Cup: USA proving to be too much for Great Britain and Ireland

Two days are in the books at the 2016 Concession Cup and Team USA has a commanding lead over GB&I

BRADENTON, FL (April 22, 2016) – Day 2 is in the books at the 2016 Concession Cup and Team USA is seemingly well on their way to retaining the cup, leading Great Britain and Ireland 16-2. On the heels of yesterday's 8-1 route in foursomes Team USA put together another dominant day, winning the four-ball session by the same 8-1 tally.

Like yesterday the Americans got off to a quick start at The Concession Golf Club by putting points on the board with a match one victory. Nathan Smith and Todd White redeemed themselves after losing yesterday with a 2&1 win over Barry Hume and Matt Clark. The only GB&I triumph came once more came from Ben Westgate and Mike Hearne as they defeated Sammy Schmitz and Joe Alfieri 2&1 in match two.

Westgate and Hearne have been the only bright spot for GB&I finishing the team portion of the event 2-0.

The Concessions Cup is a biannual event that brings together many of the best Mid-Amateur, Senior and Super Senior players in the world. The 2016 edition concludes tomorrow with 18 single matches.
