The ten teams invited to the UCLA-hosted event played CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif., former site of the PGA TOUR's Frys.com Open. They played the course at a par 71 from 7,360 yards.
At 66-70, Knapp led the field through the first two rounds, but his Bruins still trailed USC. Knapp posted 69 in Wednesday's final round and ultimately finished in second place overall, while the team overcame a two-shot deficit to win their host tournament.
Junior Lorens Chan, a native of Honolulu, Hawaii, tied for third place overall and posted the lowest round for UCLA in the final round, a 68. He carded 71-67 in the first two rounds. Another Junior, Jonathan Garrick of Atherton, Calif., also had a nice showing, placing 10th and shooting two-under par 211.
USC senior Paul Smith of Turlock, Calif. lead the Trojans to a still-impressive second-place finish as they beat third-place Stanford by 13. Smith posted seven-under 206, including a 66 on Wednesday, while tying for third place individually. Sophomore Rico Hoey bounced back from an opening-round 74 with back-to-back 69's.

2014 U.S. Amateur Public Links runner-up Doug Ghim, a freshman at Texas, tied for third place (66-74-66) and led his Longhorns to a fourth place team finish.
