The start of the CGA championship season has been delayed one day.
With this week's snowstorm, the association canceled Friday's play at both the CGA Four-Ball at Legacy Ridge Golf Course in Westminster and the Senior Four-Ball at Todd Creek Golf Club in Thornton. So the tournaments will be shortened from 54 to 36 holes, with one round each on Saturday and Sunday.
The Four-Ball and Senior Four-Balls are the first CGA championships of 2013.
The last three winning teams -- including defending champions Jon Lindstrom and Dean Clapp -- are in the Four-Ball field. And the last four -- among them 2012 champs Jerry Kidney and Daniel Dymerski -- are entered in the Senior Four-Ball.
All told, 12 players who have won the CGA Four-Ball at some point are giving it another go this weekend, while 13 former Senior Four-Ball champs are competing. Lindstrom and Clapp have each won the Four-Ball twice, including once each with other partners. And on the senior side, Kidney is the player with the most past success in this event, having won four times (1998, '99, 2002 and '12).
