JUNO BEACH, Fla. (April 25, 2014) -- Tim Jackson shot the round of the day and took over the lead after two rounds at the 2014 George L. Coleman Senior Invitational.
Jackson followed his first-round 73 with a 3-under 68 and now leads by a shot over Chip Lutz and first-round co-leader Bryan Norton.
Jackson, from Germantown, Tenn., was second at last year's Coleman Senior and reached the final 32 of the U.S. Mid-Amateur.
Lutz and Norton aren't far behind. Lutz followed his first-round 70 with a 73 on Friday while Norton, who was co-leader alongside defending champion Paul Simson with a 69 on Thursday, shot 74.
Simson shot a 77 in Round 2 and slipped back into a fifth-place tie.
The George L. Coleman Invitational is one of the year's top events. Played at the Donald Ross-designed Seminole Golf Club, the Coleman features a loaded field featuring many of the world's top mid-amateurs and seniors.
