Cloninger leads North & South Senior

PINEHURST, N.C. (Aug. 22, 2012) -- Rick Cloninger followed a first-round 4-under 68 with an even-par 72 at the 61st North & South Senior at Pinehurst No. 2. Cloninger leads a loaded field by one shot where John Sajevic sits alone in second place following rounds of 71-70--141. Frank Ecker is third at 1-under 71-72--143 while Dennis Helms (70-74--144) is fourth at even par. A group of four players, including legendary amateur and defending champion (and four-time winner) Paul Simson are tied for fifth at 1-over.
