Chicago Amateur: Medalist knocked out

Medalist Bennett Lavin was knocked out in the first round of Tuesday's opening round of match play at the Chicago District Amateur.

LA GRANGE, Ill. (June 25, 2013) - John Watson, IV (Conway Farms GC) knocked off medalist Bennett Lavin (Glen Club) 2 and 1 in the first round of match play at the 94th CDGA Amateur Championship at Edgewood Valley Country Club. Watson, the 2011 CDGA Am medalist, will square off with the 2012 Illinois State Mid- Amateur champion Kyle Nathan (Exmoor CC), who needed 20 holes to defeat David Cooke (Mistwood GC).
