Chad Webb grabs S.C. Tournament of Champions

Local resident Chad Webb beats the defending champion Kevin Roberts by a stroke at the Tradition Club

PAWLEY ISLAND, S.C. — After a wet and bone chilling first round, Mother Nature greeted players with plenty of sunshine and very little wind to make the final round of the Tournament of Champions at the Tradition Club much more enjoyable for everyone. Shooting the lowest score of the event was local resident Chad Webb with a two-under par score of 142. Webb captured the Men’s Club Championship division by a total of one shot over last year’s champion, Kevin Roberts. In the Men’s Senior Club division Mike Phillips of Summerville placed first with a final score of 144. Taylors resident, Duff Wagner, won the One Day Gross by three shots over three other players with a score of 150. Greenwood’s Lewis Rollins won the One Day Senior Division by five shots with a score of 149. Jodee Tindal of Rock Hill won the Women’s Division by seven shots with a two day total of 152. Rick Oyervides used his 9 handicap to win the One Day Net division by five shots with a net total of 135.
