Carson defeats Collins in playoff at Pasadena City Senior

Brian Carson fired 71 on Friday to join Mel Collins in a playoff at Brookside Golf Club

PASADENA, Calif. — Brian Carson and Mel Collins Jr. finished tied at the top of the leaderboard after 36 holes at the Pasadena City Senior Championship. Carson fired 71 on Friday to come from four behind and tie for first with Collins, who led after day one with 70. After extra holes, it was Carson prevailing and taking home the title in come-from-behind fashion. Taking third place and missing the playoff by a stroke was Rob Kring, while Oliver Rheinfurth and Patrick Carrigan tied for fourth place at 147. Defending champion Michael Turner of Sherman Oaks posted rounds of 75-74 and placed seventh in his attempt to repeat.
