Cameron Young wins Boff Invitational

ESSEX, New Jersey (Oct. 9, 2014) -- Cameron Young had quite a summer. The Scarborough, New York junior was a quarterfinalist in the U.S. Amateur in August, then represented USA in a winning Junior Ryder Cup in Scotland. During the summer he also made match play at the US Junior Amateur and played well at the Met Open. His latest golf accomplishment? A six stroke victory at the one day, 36-hole Boff Invitational at Essex County Club. Boff won the title shooting 140, while Nick Miller shot 146 to finish runner-up. ABOUT THE BOFF INVITATIONAL Essex County Club hosts the Boff Invitational, played in the honor of Gregory Boff -- a young man of great athletic promise whose life tragically ended in an automobile accident in July of 1989. The invitation-only field is comprised of 54 of the top players in the Metropolitan section of New York and New Jersey, raising funds for the Gregory Boff Charitable Foundation. The scratch amateurs play 18 holes in the morning and are joined by 54 invited guests for the afternoon rounds.
