Briggs wins AGC Tour Championship

Novato H.S. 9th grader Robert Briggs fires a final round 70, to become amateurgolf.com's youngest ever champion

On a tough weekend filled with rain, wind, and cold temperatures three golfers were able to get HOT for a one round.

And all three rode that one round to victory in the 36 hole 2012 Tour Championship.

The net division was won on Sunday by Bart Goldie who was able to make three scratch birdies towards the end of his round and finish with a net 71 on Sunday for a 144 total to win by five shots.

Dale Bouguennec
In the senior flight, it was a superb 71 by Dale Bouguennec on a terrible Saturday for golf (more like a frozen tundra Sunday than a Northern California Saturday) with 3 birdies and two bogies. On Sunday, his front nine let others think they had a chance, but he closed with a 3 under 33 on the back for a 73 and winning total of 144.

The championship flight was won with the lowest round of the tournament by one of the youngest competitors in the field. Robert Briggs, a 9th grader at Novato HS

Bart Goldie
and a member at Marin CC shot a fantastic 70 on Sunday. He missed just one fairway, made 4 birdies and just 2 bogies for a 151 total and a one shot win over Andres Quintero.

"It feels great to get an amateurgolf.com win under my belt," Briggs said following the victory. "On Sunday, my ball striking and putting were on."
