Bradley Rock cruises to Long Island Mid-Amateur victory

Bradley Rock never trailed during his Long Island Mid-Amateur win, which is his second LIGA victory of the year

OYSTER BAY, N.Y. — Bradley Rock secured his second Long Island Golf Association championship of the year, winning by three on Wednesday at the Long Island Mid-Amateur. Rock never trailed, carding a 69 to lead by a stroke on Tuesday, followed by a smooth 2-under 70 in the final round to extend the lead to three. Rock, who plays out of Wheatley Hills Golf Club in East Williston, N.Y., won last month's Michael Hebron Amateur Championship, which was conducted at Bethpage State Park's Black Course. He won that event in an exciting 3-hole playoff. Taking second place was Jonathan Jeter, who was the only other player under par for 36 holes besides Rock. Jeter carded rounds of 72 and 70, good enough for 2-under 142 and a two-shot advantage over third place.
