Blake Foutty takes one shot lead in Northeast Ohio Am

Play resumes tomorrow in Aurora with half the field within striking distance of the lead

The 85th Northeast Ohio Amateur got underway on Tuesday at the Windmill Lakes Golf Club in Ravenna, OH, just east of Akron, with Blake Foutty leading the stroke play tournament after his 2-under 68. That puts him one shot ahead of Jake Fait, the only other person to shoot under par during the day. Foutty, from Canal Fulton, OH, played for Walsh University. Fait, from Boardman, plays for Kenyon College and was recently honored by being named to the NCAA Division III PING All-Great Lakes Region Team. Ten other players are within five shots heading into the second round. The second round tees off at the 7,203-yard, par-72 Walden Golf Club in Aurora on Thursday, June 18. The low 50 scores (plus ties) will advance to the to the 36-hole finals on June 22nd at Youngstown Country Club.
