GLENDORA, Calif. — Jason Bittick and Robert Funk made a remarkable 10 birdies during their opening round of the Southern California Four-Ball en route to a 64 at Glendora Country Club.
The leading pair began on the back nine, where they made just two pars, before going birdie free on the front nine to get to 8-under. They lead by one over Dick Engel and Erik Jarvey.
Engel made five birdies on his own ball, while Jarvey threw in a clutch eagle at 18 as the duo eventually carded 65. They're one clear of a five-way tie for third place at 66.
Eighteen holes remain tomorrow as 30 teams sit within six shots of the lead, including 14 teams within three.
