Birdie spree earns Jessica Porvasnik Harder Hall Invitational

Jessica Porvasnik closes with four straight birdies to capture the Harder Hall Invitational in style

SEBRING, Florida (Jan. 9, 2016) -- Jessica Porvasnik fired a final round 69 to win the Harder Hall Women's Invitational. Having battled through rain and darkness in yesterday's third round, the field was greeted by temperatures in the 80's and sunshine in Saturday's final round at the demanding 6,142-yard, par-72 Harder Hall Country Club. Porvasnik, a junior at Ohio State, started the day one shot back of Purdue's August Kim after Kim's impressive 4-under par 68 third round. Kim didn't have the same game on Saturday, however, shooting 77 and finishing in a tie for fifth. Meanwhile, Porvasnik was 1-over par through 14 holes when she turned a switch and blitzed 15, 16, 17, and 18 with four consecutive birdies. Her remarkable finish gave her a four-shot victory over Lori Beth Adams and Kelly Grassel. The round of the tournament was shot Saturday by former University of Kansas golfer Minami Levonowich, who vaulted into the top 15 with a phenomenal 67. The Harder Hall Women's Invitational is the first event on the 2016 AmateurGolf.com "Majors of Women's Amateur Golf" calendar.
