Beverly takes Fairfield City by three

Back-to-back 70s helps Beverly win on his home course

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (August 10, 2014) — After shooting back-to-back rounds of two-under par 70, Aaron Beverly of Fairfield captured his hometown's city championship by three shots over Peyton Smith of Atherton. Beverly, a redshirt sophomore at Sacramento State, along with Smith were the only golfers to finish the two-round event in red numbers. Regan Kilpatrick and John McCord finished in a two-way tie for third place at 145, five shots behind the winner Beverly. Beverly red-shirted during the 2013-2014 season after competing in nine of the team's 11 tournaments his freshman year.
