Bethune-Cookman Leads the PGA Minority Collegiate

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (May 13, 2017) - After two rounds at the PGA Minority Collegiate Bethune-Cookman leads both the Men's and Women's Division. In the Men's Division being played at the Wanamaker Course of PGA Golf Club the Wildcats are 7-over and leading the way by 18 shots. Incarnate Word (+25) is in second place, Florida A&M University (+40) is third, NC Central University (+42) is in fourth while Savannah State University (+43) and Tennessee State University (+43) are sharing fifth. In the Women's Division at the Ryder Course of PGA Golf Club Bethune-Cookman at 16-over paces the field by 13 shots. Incarnate Word (+29) resides in second place, North Carolina A&T State (+41) is a distant third, Chicago State University (+45) sits in fourth and in fifth it is Hampton University (+88). INDIVIDUAL PLAY After 36-holes in the Men's Division at the Ryder Course of PGA Golf Club Nabeel Khan of UConn is out in front with a 4-under tally. As one of just two players under-par Khan has combined rounds of 71-69 to open up a three shot lead. On Saturday Khan birdied four-times, Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 13, while he bogeying once. Siyan Liu (Palm Beach Atlantic University) is in second place at 1-under, Devery Stewart (Corban University) is well off the pace in third at 3-over, in fourth it is Isaac Calderon (Corban University) at 7-over and in fifth sits Junghoon Lee (UNLV) at 9-over. The Women Division lead belongs to Tiana Jones (Maryland Eastern Shore) with a 6-over tally. In the second round Jones shot a 2-over 74 that included two birdies. Six shots off the lead in second place comes Kaitlyn Rose (University of West Alabama) at 12-over while Tasneem Ward (Savannah State University) at 27-over is third.
