Colby Harwell and Ed Sanchez win The Devlin Four-Ball Invitational, Virginia and Wake Forest pick up wins, plus more

(September 12, 2016) -- Match play has begun at the U.S. Men and Women Mid-Amateur's but first five players were busy earning a share of medalist honors. At the U.S. Mid-Amateur it was Scott Harvey, Michael Muehr and Thomas Werkmeister claiming the honor while at the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Shannon Johnson and Julia Potter finished atop the leaderboard. At The Devlin Four-Ball Invitational it was the best field ever and it was first timers Colby Harwell and Ed Sanchez emerging victorious. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS AmateurGolf.com member Michael Mercier carried the American banner north of the border and won the Canadian Senior Amateur. In Texas Lewis Stephenson won his first Texas Golf Association title as he claimed the Texas Senior Amateur. While in upstate New York Keith Decker notched another 2016 title by winning the Senior Porter Cup. COLLEGE ROUND UP Against a talented field No. 21 Virginia emerged at the Carpet Capital Collegiate. In their season opener 10th ranked Oklahoma earned a clean sweep, winning the team and medalist honors at the Gopher Invitational. Grant Hirschman earned the individual title. No. 14 Wake Forest was also victorious as they repeated at the Rod Myers Invitational. REGIONAL ROUND UP -Tim Hume and Kelly Gosse defended their Florida Mid-Senor North Four-Ball crown
