All in a weekend’s work in Bermuda.
Lane, the 58-year-old Englishman who made five Champions Tour starts in 2018, was 2 under for two rounds at Fairmont Southampton Turtle Hill Golf Club in Southampton, Bermuda. He birdied his final two holes of the day on Saturday to edge Miguel Angel Martin by one shot. Martin has been a member of the European Tour for more than 20 seasons.
Chip Beck, a four-time PGA Tour winner and three-time Ryder Cupper, was T-6 with his 2-over total.
The top amateur was Canada’s TJ Rule, who was 10 over for 36 holes. Three amateurs tied for 24th another shot back, including Damian Palanyandi, Christopher Phillips and Jevon Roberts.
Outside of the overall division, there were three separate amateur divisions. Rule won the men’s amateur division, while Tariqah Walikraam was the top player in the women’s division with a 16-over total.
David Moser, at 5 over, topped the senior men’s division.
