Australian Women's Riversdale Cup: Lead goes back to Gabi Ruffels

VICTORIA, Australia (March 11, 2017) -- After the third round of the Australian Women's Riversdale Cup the lead has gone back to opening day leader Gabi Ruffels. On Saturday she put together an even-par 73 and by staying put at 2-under she has given herself a three shot advantage with one round to play. Throughout the third round at Riversdale Golf Club, Ruffels didn't do anything spectacular as she carded a round of pars. Dating back to her final hole on Friday she has know parred 19 holes in a row. 36-hole leader Ayaka Furue, Kokone Yoshimoto and Karis Davidson are tied for second at 1-over. Four others are on the fringe of contention at 6-over and sharing fifth. ROUND TWO RECAP In the Australian Women's Riversdale Cup, top-ranked Karis Davidson roared back into contention with a brilliant, if occasionally errant, 5-under-par 68 that featured an incredible eight birdies. The young Queenslander reached even-par after her opening 78 and now trails just two players: first round leader leader Gabi Ruffels, who shot 74 to sit at 2-under and new leader Ayaka Furue, of Japan, whose 1-under 72 left her at 3-under.
