Ramsey continued a solid start to her final summer before joining the Clemson roster. The 17-year-old also won the Georgia Women’s Amateur on June 5

WILLIAMSBURG, Virg. (June 14, 2013) -- With a victory at the Women’s Eastern Amateur on June 13, Ashlan Ramsey continued a solid start to her final summer before joining the Clemson roster. The 17-year-old also won the Georgia Women’s Amateur on June 5. Ramsey, of Milledgeville, Ga., defeated Ji Eun Baik in the final at The Legends at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga., and eight days later added a national amateur title. At the Women’s Eastern Amateur, played at the Kingsmill River Course in Williamsburg, Va., Ramsey shot 3-over 206 to beat Katelyn Dambaugh, a South Carolina commit, by three shots. Virginia’s Briano Mao shot 210 to finish third. Ramsey opened with a 5-under 66 to take an immediate three-shot lead on Dambaugh, who never could catch up. Ramsey will play on the Clemson women’s golf team in the fall when the Tigers compete in their inaugural season. A year ago, Ramsey fell to Kyung Kim in the final round of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links. She is No. 5 in Golfweek’s Junior Rankings.
